Theatre Young Harris to Present Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap”

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – 网赌网站’s Theatre Young Harris will present six performances of Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap” in Dobbs Theatre of Goolsby Center on the 网赌网站 campus. Performances are scheduled for Wednesday-Saturday, April 20-23, at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. A “Pay What You Can” preview is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors 65+ or with 网赌网站 ID.

This classic thriller follows a group of strangers stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm—one of whom is a murderer. One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until the last, nerve-shredding moment when the killer’s identity and motive are finally revealed in an exciting plot twist. The performance contains minor adult themes and language.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of Christie’s birth, and the play was chosen as part of the Theatre Young Harris season to honor her work. It is the longest continuously running play in the world, after 64 years at London’s St. Martin’s Theatre.

“Audiences will be delighted by the 网赌网站 production of this classic British mystery, which is taking our design team to new heights to capture the period feel of the play,” said Chair of the Theatre Department and Assistant Professor of Theatre Anne Towns.

Directed by Adjunct Instructor of Theatre Bart Hansard, the production features senior theatre major Shannon Wade of Fayetteville, Ga., as Molly Ralston, senior theatre major Heath Burnett of Ellijay, Ga., as Mr. Paravicini, junior theatre major Macaulay Vanhoose of Woodstock, Ga., as Giles Ralston, senior theatre major Aaron Smithson of Suwanee, Ga., as Christopher Wren, senior theatre major Taylor Tracy of Blairsville, Ga., as Mrs. Boyle, sophomore theatre major Nick Oberheu of Loganville, Ga., as Major Matcalf, senior communication studies major Leah Cheshier of Bremen, Ga., as Miss Casewell, and sophomore theatre major Tyler Todd of Morrow, Ga., as Detective Sergeant Trotter.

Theatre Young Harris is 网赌网站’s performing arts organization. Each season, the theatre company presents a full lineup of notable productions, including full-length musicals, innovative dramas, classic plays, children’s shows and more.
