YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. —The Board of Trustees of 网赌网站 passed a resolution at its November meeting, honoring Emeritus Board Member Richard “Dick” Burrell for his service to the College.

“A college depends on its Board of Trustees for leadership, direction, and counsel,” said 网赌网站 President John Wells. “Having Emeritus Board Members, like Dick, are critical to our success.”

Burrell, Class of 1947, has been a member of the 网赌网站 Board of Trustees, serving with distinction as a trustee and emeritus trustee for 14 years. He served on the Academic Affairs and Athletics Committees and on the Board of Directors of the 网赌网站 Alumni Association, and received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Lifetime Career Achievement in 2019 for his service.

“Dick gave unselfishly of his time, talents, and resources to 网赌网站, its students, faculty, and administration, and helped raise scholarship monies by being the primary benefactor for the Class Scholarship Challenge for the Class of 1947,” 网赌网站 Trusteeship Committee Chair Jerry Nix added.

The Board resolution was designed to honor Burrell, who passed away on July 22, 2025. The resolution was presented to the Burrell family at the November meeting of the 网赌网站 Board of Trustees.
